I had my first solo exhibition at the age of 18 in 1969 in Caltanissetta in Sicily, where I was born. I have exhibited in the most beautiful cities in Italy including: Agrigento, Caltanissetta (1969.71), Palermo (1971), Naples (Castel dell'Ovo 2016), Rome (2015), Macerata (1970), L'Aquila (1971). ), Rimini (2006), Spoleto (1975), Bologna (Artefiera 1993), Sanremo, Cuneo (1977, 1980), where I lived from 1979 to 2015, Ferrara (2013) and Turin (2013), where I I have been installed since 2015. I have also exhibited abroad:
Hawaii in 2007, in France in Chouze sur Loire, at the Château des Reaux Museum (permanent work), and in Paris (performance in 2014).
For me, painting is an investigation, a therapy and an outlet: I have tried different painting techniques and different materials to search for the balance and perfection that I have not yet found.
For many years my favorite theme has been the Tree to which I have devoted different cycles. "Antonio Presti's long, meditated and measured pictorial itinerary is identified with a revisited naturalism, with a meticulous search for the values of color and material, with a figuration linked to a vision of reality...." ( Angelo Mistrangelo). The great Monregais dialect poet Remigio Bertolino describes my recent art well in the presentation of my personal exhibition at the Ceramics Museum of Mondovì in 2014: “His images which seem to arise from a source of dreams and archetypal forms, images of a great emotional impact, transmit to the user "visions" of high poetry..."
