Biography

Arnaud Jatop is a French visual artist, born on February 21, 1985 in Brussels. He has been taking visual art classes since he was very young, growing up in an environment of artists and art dealers, which immersed him in different artistic trends and inspired him from the age of 17 for his first paintings.

In 2004, he obtained a grade of 20/20 in Art at the Baccalaureate. His creations were published in the regional press of Auxerre. In 2007, he received his first order for a Parisian store. In 2010, he had his first exhibition and then launched a series of 15 paintings published in a magazine in 2013. His work testifies to his wonder for life, combined with the influences of Pop art, new realism and Street Art. His taste for the pop universe comes from the accessibility of the genre. An Art for All with the desire to provide the living testimony of an era. His works are mainly made from Parisian metro posters, what he calls "The skins of cities". He collects the images in the early morning when the poster artists pass by. Then he tears, shreds, sticks and unsticks to assemble and finally create a new universe. He also recycles beverage cans and gives them a new shape. We can talk about "Recycle Art". Finally comes the painting that brings life through color. The decorative elements are often associated with urban life. His favorite subject is universality in the broadest sense. Jatop continues to evolve in his artistic practice by experimenting and improving collage, compression and painting techniques in order to push the minimalist aesthetics of his creations. His committed work loves recycling, dear to our times, while transmitting universal messages.
