Biography
Bojan Stričević was born on May 9, 1991, in Novi Sad, where he graduated from the “Bogdan Šuput" High School of Design with a degree in art techniques. He completed his undergraduate and master's studies under Vasilije Dolovački and Dragan Martinović at the Academy of Fine Arts, EDUCONS University. He graduated in 2014 with a thesis on the American painter John Singer Sargent, and in 2016 earned his master's degree with a thesis on Russian painting at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. His education at the Academy of Fine Arts had a decisive influence on his work.
He is an active member of the ESNAF art association. He gained his first artistic experience at the age of 7 in the studio of the renowned academic painter Viktor Škrabanj from Bečej, where he first encountered portrait drawing based on live models.
Bojan is inspired by the works of 19th and 20th-century Russian painters such as Ilya Repin, Isaak Levitan, Vasily Polenov, Ivan Shishkin, and others from that period. His works are presented through a classical approach, with drawing as the foundation of his expression. His creativity develops through watercolor, dry pastel, and oil techniques. Using oil on canvas, Bojan takes us on a journey to another, idyllic world. He employs rich colors and strives to capture the beauty of a moment, breathing new and eternal life into it.
