Born on May 22, 1975 in Concarneau, living in South Finistère, it was while traveling the seas of the world as a fisherman that the inspiration for an artistic movement free of all techniques and compositions came to him.
Not really predisposed to an artistic career, Art Rez began a career as a fisherman at a very young age for about twenty years. His life experiences, whether lived at sea, on land, through encounters or various practices, have all contributed to shaping his art.
It was with his foot on the ground that the artist threw himself into the design of his first canvas on a whim. This is where a true vocation began, a perfect blend of passion and rigor.
A lover of gestural and intuitive painting, it is with a candid and original approach, without any artistic movement of his own, that Art Rez expresses his emotions on his canvases. These abstract paintings express a certain sensitivity, full of colors and diverse shapes, all coming straight from the imagination without being conditioned by pre-established rules.
It is this artistic emancipation, which almost refers to the exploratory posture of childhood, which attracts the eye in his paintings. Indeed, this plurality of colors, multiple materials used, these diverse shapes and dimensions, as well as a variety of superpositions of textures, makes each canvas singular and remarkable.
