Dariusz Witold Mierzwa

Dariusz Witold Mierzwa, I was born in 1959 in Chorzów, and

I am an artist with a multifaceted creative path. My passion

for art began after graduating from art school. Initially, I

engaged in sculpture and set design, creating musical

performances, concerts, and working on television and film

productions for Polish Television in Katowice.

I combine painting and drawing techniques with acrylic

structures, spatula work, and digital imagery,

experimenting and discovering new possibilities in art. I

work with Hydro Oil technology and traditional oil and

acrylic paints, drawing on old techniques using my own hand-ground paints and tempera

underpaintings. I also create digital paintings on a graphic tablet.

My paintings tell stories about the other side of the material world, something deeper, larger

than ourselves. I seek a metaphysical world that exists within each of us, bringing surreal

visions combined with philosophical maxims.

I received the Luxembourg Art Prize for 2022 and 2023, which is a significant recognition of

my work. I am not afraid to experiment or take on new challenges. My works are filled with a

deep message that speaks to the souls of my audience, prompting reflection on the state of

our world. My art, combining artistic vision with social engagement, reminds viewers of

empathy, the fleeting nature of time for our planet, and the transience of life.

My works have been exhibited and aucQoned in Poland, Milan, Luxembourg, Spain, Berlin, Venice, Dubai, and the USA.
