This artwork, a striking sculpture set on an austere base, is distinguished by its minimalist elegance and the energy it exudes. The artist has opted for a bold approach, using a raw, industrial material – probably metal – to create a dynamic and captivating spiral. The sinuous, intertwining curves unfold gracefully, capturing the essence of continuous movement. The contrast between the sculpture's rough, dark surface and the simplicity of the clean background highlights the central piece, immediately drawing the viewer's eye. The sculpture, with its fluid lines and organic form, almost seems to defy gravity, creating a captivating visual tension. Each viewing angle offers a different perspective, allowing the work to constantly reinvent itself. This quality transforms the sculpture into an immersive and interactive experience, engaging the viewer to explore its multiple facets. The choice of an abstract subject gives free rein to the imagination, inviting various interpretations on the theme of movement, freedom and evolution. In short, this sculpture proves to be a masterpiece of modern minimalism, a successful fusion of simplicity and complexity, of brute force and delicacy. The metalwork, the elegant curves and the dynamic composition are a testament to the artist's undeniable talent, offering us a work that is both intriguing and inspiring.

Works in prints from Bernar Venet
Presentation
Bernar Venet is a French visual artist , born in 1941 in Château-Arnoux-Saint-Auban in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. He has been living in the United States since 1966 where he has become known for his steel sculptures and his drawings. In the 60s, Venet showcased canvases covered with tar.
Bernar Venet's notoriety began during this period, with the creation of a formless sculpture, composed of a pile of coal poured on the ground. His capacity for intellectual abstraction and his taste for mathematical reasoning and experimentation lead Venet to what was soon to become conceptual art.
In the 80s, Bernar Venet set up the basic structure of his "Lignes indéterminées". He produced them in steel and installed in many urban spaces and public collections, including Nice, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Strasbourg, Beijing, Austin, San Francisco, Museum of Grenoble. In 2011 Venet installed his monumental works in the Versailles gardens.
In 2022, Berlin's Tempelhof Kunsthalle hosted a five-month long retrospective spanning the artist's career from 1961 to 2021.
