Gisella Chaudry

Gisella Chaudry grows up in a family made up of two different cultures (Pakistani father and Sicilian mother), a mix in which social difficulty is always present both due to the Sicilian condition culturally linked to traditions and due to discrimination based on her father's ethnicity. This fundamental aspect, during growth, becomes empathy towards those who experience these situations today, those who decide to carry out catharsis by facing the sea, a situation aggravated by globalization and repeated wars which have accentuated the number of migratory flows.

Travels from east to west and from south to north to search for better possibilities and expectations. Gisella Chaudry reflects on the principles of multicultural aggregations where the earth is the cradle of different cultures but is also an illusion that becomes desperation caused by dictatorships, prejudices, ignorance and exploitation. A thought that is tangled between dystopia and utopia fueled by the gap between social classes and by technological domination that pushes the possibility of a new humanism further away every day.
