Jacopo Mandich graduated in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 2005. In 2006, he won the Edgardo Mannucci prize. In 2015, he attended two-year specialization courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino and Turin. In 2015, he was the first Italian artist invited to the Yekaterinburg Contemporary Biennial in Russia. In 2018 he attended the Master of Sculpture at the Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle, Halle, Germany.
The aim of his work is to capture, through a strong affinity with matter, human sensitivity, to reveal it through the use of our senses. It is our senses and perceptions of reality that allow us to evoke common memory and bring out our emotions, defining our individual and collective identities. His sculptures therefore act as detectors of forces that pass through and move us, which remain largely invisible or elusive, like Jung's collective unconscious.
