      • I dunno. I'm under water with my position on this and ready to give up. Markets no longer make sense to me. I have read hundreds of books about them but they continually defy logic. I thought that would continue, and think it will and I will have to close at a big loss. I guess if others make money that is a consolation. I honestly thought this was going to go higher. It never does what I think in the first place.

      • Fluffy ClucksMarkets are ruthless, and I don't think aiming for the long term by going short is a good idea, especially on indexes. People need to throw away all the money they've earned somewhere. Maybe in the future you're right but nobody can predict the future, maybe by aiming for the very short term and making a few prayers it will work out better.

          • Lol time will not bail me out. We’re in a bull market, if it switches to bear ill short. You think im a mindless sit on losses guy like you waiting for the market to turn a year later?

          • Trade Everythingi do this for a living with decades of experience behind me. Im not sbout to change what works for me. Trend following and momentum trading may be the flavor of the day but i dont care. I have a good chunk of my money in treasuries currently and sleep well at night. Most traders these days are noobs who have never seen or survived much of a bear market. Ive made solid returns most years and am not becoming a gambler thank you very much.

              • Patience is a virtue. I know that in my case, assuming I have done my homework--which I usually do to excess--I know that more often than not sitting on your hands is the best thing you can do.

              • I would also add that I have no intentions of closing my bearish bet on this index above 20k--barring any serious developments that I doubt will ever materialize--like the BOJ starting to buy ETFs again anytime soon. And laugh all you like. But I can afford to hold on for at least a year.
