Patricia Gadisseur studied plastic arts and graduated from the Academy of fine arts of Namur. After having tried divers techniques and subjects, it is finally in abstraction that she finds her freedom and language.
Patricia Gadisseur's paintings are the crystallization of stolen and ephemeral moments. The artist wants to fix memories and dreams on the canvas. From these moments of existence remain symbols, signs and codes that she will register on the canvas. Thus, Patricia Gadisseur's canvases talk about memories and intimacy.
The artist technique mixes painting and collage. Collage, photographs or bits of words emerge as persistent elements in our memory. Recovered in some places by the painting of oblivion. Through the artist technique, the idea of scattered memory makes sense. The work of the painting running gives the impression that the painting is acting on its own, as if there was a dimension that the artist cannot control. This can be seen as a metaphor of remembrance and unconscious, which appear without been invited.
Through her canvases Patricia Gadisseur gives a new definition of beauty. It is not only about aesthetics, but also about harmony, contrasts and energy.
