Artwork location: Italy
In this evocative and masterfully rendered artwork, the viewer is transported to a serene riverside scene, encapsulated through the skillful use of broad, impressionistic brushstrokes. The painting features a small, solitary rowboat gently floating on the tranquil water, the centerpiece of the composition that draws immediate attention. The rowboat, painted with rich hues of blue and accents of red, seems to be in a restful state, perhaps awaiting its next voyage.
The artist has employed a vibrant yet harmonious palette to bring the scene to life, capturing the interplay of light and shadow with extraordinary precision. The reflections in the water are particularly striking, offering a mirror-like portrayal of the boat and the surrounding landscape, which adds depth and movement to the piece.
In the background, the artist has depicted a series of rolling hills and distant mountains, their forms softened by a hazy atmosphere that evokes a sense of distance and calm. The gradient from the lush greens of the nearby foliage to the muted tones of the far-off peaks creates a dynamic yet balanced background.
The waterfront is lined with a series of steps and stone platforms, leading the eye toward the horizon. Small details, such as the scattered wooden planks and the subtle ripples in the water, are meticulously rendered, adding a layer of realism to the otherwise impressionistic style.
This painting is a testament to the artist's ability to capture the quiet beauty of nature through deliberate and expressive brushwork. It invites the viewer to pause and immerse themselves in the tranquility of a moment suspended in time.

Born in 1968. Artist based in Amsterdam, Netherlands“Since I was a beginning artist I focused on paradoxical themes in my work, which I loved to create in my mind and then put them on the canvas. It changed into something completely opposite- simplicity combined with beauty, after a dramatic event in my life.
I started to deeply resonate with the saying “live every day as it is your last one». In my work I want to express that value of life as an amazing gift and I do my best to make every day count by creating beauty - not only for myself but also for others.
These days, what I paint is largely based on a combination of spots of color. During the process I sketch that chaotic first layer and the oil paint then dictates me itself what strokes to put on next. I would call my style close to impressionism. I prefer to use a palette knife before the brush because it allows me to be more flexible and free while painting with vivid thick layers. This way I am translating my emotions directly onto the canvas." Education: Ufa art school (+MS in History of Art)
