Tara Kelley-Cruz

Artist Statement:

I'm best known for my abstract paintings whose themes range from striving for spiritual direction and progression to hope amid despair.

I live and work in Colorado Springs, CO. I have a printmaking background (printmaking was really my first love). I find that my printmaking sensibility sometimes finds its way into my paintings.

I am currently exploring the ideas of memory and history. My work relies heavily on form, color and texture and deals with the idea of mark making and how marks we make throughout life shape who we are.

Education:

Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Brigham Young University, 1992. Specialization in Printmaking

Also studied art at Georgia State University 1990 - 1991
