Blurring the lines between abstract and figurative, I explore the interplay of chance and control through multidisciplinary work, driven by the emotional power of colour.
Valentine Dardel is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, textile, sculpture, and digital media. Educated at Central Saint Martins, where she earned First Class Honours for her final degree project, Valentine's work bridges abstract and figurative realms, inviting viewers to explore a dynamic interplay of colour, form, and chance. Her pieces often evoke personal interpretations, much like a Rorschach test, with forms emerging from abstract compositions, blurring the boundaries between imagination and reality.
Her career is marked by a series of collaborations and exhibitions, including her residency at the Maison des Créateurs in South of France and forthcoming residencies at Casa Na Ilha in Brazil (2025) and the prestigious Rijksakademie in Amsterdam (2026). Valentine has exhibited in institutions such as the Centre Pompidou, and the Musée du Papier Peint in Rixheim, and has a strong online presence on Instagram.
Her projects have taken her across the globe, from Berlin to Hong Kong and beyond, often focusing on materials and textile installations. Valentine's collaborations extend into music and performance art, where she has worked with musicians and bands from LA and Miami.
Valentine is deeply engaged in fostering creative dialogues and teaching, leading workshops like “Art of Chaos" at the Maison des Créateurs. She is a member of the Collectif 801 at the Tour Orion.
With a practice grounded in the exploration of colour and chance, Valentine's work invites audiences to participate in a sensory dialogue, where each viewer's perspective contributes to the unfolding narrative of her art.
